For more than 25 years, we have offered AMLA Laddus – an Indian sweet made from chickpea flour, ghee, and sugar. In warm weather, the product melts and cannot be shipped during the summer. Therefore, we sought an alternative for this very popular product and now offer you very tasty and healthy cookies that have almost the same recipe as Laddus - however, they are baked at the end of the production process.
If one follows the language of today's marketing trends, roasted chickpea flour could be called a "Superfood". This term is often used to describe foods that are distinguished by particularly high nutritional values from ordinary foods.
Unlike such trend products, which are often conceived in marketing departments and spread on social media, roasted chickpea flour is an ancient food that is used as a healthy staple in many cultures around the world.
Scientific data confirm the uniqueness of this food.
Chickpeas are a high-quality food containing many healthy nutrients: They are rich in protein, fat, vitamins, and fiber. They must always be cooked before consumption.
In 100 grams of dried chickpeas, besides the nutrients, there are 15.5 grams of fiber. That's half the amount we should consume daily. Fibers swell, satiate, keep blood sugar levels low, and serve as food for our gut flora. Fibers lower cholesterol levels and thus protect the blood vessels.
